On December 10, 2025, the 7th International Forum for Innovative Development of Medical Robots, themed “Empowered by New-quality Productivity, Integrate and Innovate for the Future”, grandly opened at Jinyu Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop in Haidian District, Beijing. As a top-tier summit in the medical robot sector, the forum was co-hosted by Beijing Medical Robot Industry Innovation Center and Zhongguancun Science City Innovation Development Co., Ltd. It brought together Members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, renowned domestic and international experts, and representatives of leading industry enterprises. In-depth exchanges were carried out on core topics including clinical application, technological innovation and industrial translation of surgical robots.
I. Major Achievements Released: Highlighting Priorities for Industrial Development
The forum kicked off with landmark announcements. Four core achievements were launched simultaneously to chart the roadmap for the medical robot industry:
- Release of the White Paper on the Ten-year Development Panorama of the Medical Robot Industry: It systematically sorts out the industry status and future trends, and clarifies development priorities for core technologies such as image navigation and intelligent operation.
- Issuance of the Standard for Competency Requirements of Talents and Posts in the Medical Equipment Industry: Filling gaps in industry talent training and supporting the building of a professional talent pipeline.
- Launch of the Beijing High-end Medical Device Industry Development Fund: Injecting financial vitality into R&D and achievement translation of domestic medical equipment innovation.
- Project cooperation signing between Neusoft Medical and Beijing Medical Robot Industry Innovation Center: A powerful alliance to accelerate technology deployment and large-scale application of medical robots.
“These achievements demonstrate the confidence of domestic medical equipment development!” an industry observer on-site commented. From policies and standards to funding support, the industrial ecosystem is improving at an accelerated pace.
II. Gathering of Prestigious Experts: Exploring New Directions for Medical Robots
The keynote session featured distinguished speakers:
- Academician Zhu Liguo (Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Wangjing Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences): Integration of Medicine and Engineering Boosts the Inheritance and Innovative Development of Traditional Chinese Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He emphasized integration between traditional traumatology and modern medical devices. AISRI C‑arms deliver technical support for precision orthopaedic diagnosis and treatment.
- Academician Wang Ningli (Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Beijing Tongren Eye Center): Development and Future of Ophthalmic Surgical Robots. The presentation focused on intelligent ophthalmic care and offered insights for innovation in this niche field.
- Jiang Xieyuan (President of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Capital Medical University): Unite Hearts, Stay True to Innovation — Experience and Reflections on R&D and Translation of Orthopaedic Robots. Starting from clinical needs, he shared the logic behind orthopaedic robot R&D and clinical rollout, which aligns closely with AISRI’s product philosophy of “clinical-centric design”.
